A °ÄÃÅÁùºÏ²Ê×ÊÁÏ Army ROTC cadet salutes the American flag during the university’s 2021 Veterans Day Commemoration.

°ÄÃÅÁùºÏ²Ê×ÊÁÏ invites all to pay tribute to those who have served in the U.S. armed forces and attend the university’s annual Veterans Day Commemoration. The event will take place at 11 a.m. on Thursday, Nov. 10, at Risman Plaza on the Kent Campus.

Theresa Walton-Fisette is °ÄÃÅÁùºÏ²Ê×ÊÁÏ's new faculty athletic representative. This position ensures the academic integrity of intercollegiate athletics, facilitates an inclusive environment and enhances the student athletic experience.

Amoaba Gooden, vice president of °ÄÃÅÁùºÏ²Ê×ÊÁÏ's Division of Diversity, Equity and Inclusion, who has been named to Crain's Cleveland 2022 Notable Executives, is featured in Crain's 2022 Notable Executives in Diversity, Equity and Inclusion Q&A.

°ÄÃÅÁùºÏ²Ê×ÊÁÏ alumnus Earl Miller, Ph.D., a leading cognitive neuroscientist, and his wife Marlene Wicherski were recognized at the university’s 10th Annual Neuroscience Symposium, for their $2 million commitment to support research programs and students in °ÄÃÅÁùºÏ²Ê×ÊÁÏ’s Brain Health Research Institute. 

PR Student Izzy Stewart Registering Students to Vote

Some °ÄÃÅÁùºÏ²Ê×ÊÁÏ students who are first time voters expressed excitement as they hurried to class or the library on Oct. 31, 2022, a week before the midterm elections. Other students said they were voting, but they had not registered to vote before the deadline in Ohio which was Oct. 11, 2022, for the Nov. 8, election.

FAFSA Applications

The University Office of Scholarships and Financial Aid at °ÄÃÅÁùºÏ²Ê×ÊÁÏ provided an information session to assist students, alumni and university community members with this student loan debt relief program. Brenda Dillon, assistant director of Student Financial Aid, provided attendees with the latest information regarding the program.

Mental Health

The recently released a report on workplace mental health and well-being, and °ÄÃÅÁùºÏ²Ê×ÊÁÏ was highlighted as a strong example of mental health support.
