Members of the �������ϲ����� at Ashtabula Associate Degree in Nursing graduating class of December 2017 have earned a 100% pass rate on the National Council Licensure Examination for Registered Nurses (NCLEX-RN), far surpassing the national average of 90%.

“We are extremely proud of these graduates not only in their performance on the NCLEX exam but also their commitment to their education and the profession of nursing,” said Associate Professor of Nursing Julie Senita, Ph.D., MSN, RN. “This is truly an amazing group of graduates that will surely become nurse leaders in the health care field.”

The NCLEX-RN is the standard test used to qualify a nurse’s knowledge and ability in patient care upon graduation for accredited nursing programs.  Every registered nurse is required to pass the rigorous exam in order to practice in the profession.  The nationwide passage rate in 2017 for first-time exam takers was 90%.

Celebrating over 50 years of excellence in nursing education, the Associate Degree of Nursing Program at �������ϲ����� Ashtabula has established a tradition of graduates with high NCLEX-RN scores and successful career placement.  A majority of nursing students are hired to full-time positions either prior to graduation or shortly thereafter. 

“With the nursing shortage evident in almost every healthcare facility in our region, we receive many requests to recruit our students prior to graduation,” Senita said.  “Our highly engaged faculty – who not only teach on campus but also practice in various healthcare organizations across Northeast Ohio – and state-of-the-art facilities on campus provide our students with excellent educational opportunities.”
